Bruce R. Hoffen, M.D. received his Doctorate of Medicine from The Chicago Medical School in 1988. He performed an Internal Medicine internship at the University of Illinois Hospitals in Chicago. From 1989-1992, he was enrolled in a Neurology residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. Afterwards, he remained at Loyola Medical Center and performed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology. This additional training included nerve conduction studies/electromyography, electroencephalography and neuromuscular disorders patient care.
With a desire to escape Chicago's winters, Dr. Hoffen began his medical professional career in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale. In 1997, he relocated to greater Orlando and is in private practice in Longwood Florida. The practice is fully electronic and utilizes an electronic health record.
Dr. Hoffen is triple board certified in Neurology and the subspecialties of Clinical Neurophysiology and Neuromuscular Medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. A nutrition specialist, he is certified by the American College of Nutrition. He is an active member of numerous organizations including the American Academy of Neurology, American Medical Association, Seminole County Medical Society and the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Currently, he serves as a Voluntary Clinical Instructor in Neurology at the University of Central Florida Medical School.
